From a small town in the country of Argentina, barely one-year-old, Cecilia Fernández, was asking her mom for something to draw with; since that early stage in life art has been her means of expression, her escape, safety and, with it, her freedom.
Graduated as a Graphic Designer at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina; she moved to the island of Maui, Hawai‘i, in 2001, where she dedicated over a decade of her life as the Art Director & Senior Graphic Designer of the biggest name magazine on Maui, Maui no Ka 'oi (The best). Her skills fast forward this 80's looking Magazine to a classy publication that won multiple awards including “Best Regional & State Consumer Magazine” at the Maggie Awards (U.S. Mainland.), “Best Series of Photographs” at the Pa‘i Awards (State of Hawai‘i) with a spread design on Maui’s Night Sky, “Best Overall Photograph” and "Excellence in Design". Ceci also got featured at the Adobe Photoshop Keynote Opening event in Orlando, Miami, with a winning photograph voted by the Adobe creative crew and the people from all 50 States in the United States participating in the contest. In the art world, she got a special award in a conservation art exhibit at Viewpoints Fine Art Gallery on Maui: Malama Wao ‘Akua, initiating her professional career in fine arts as well. Her lifetime connection with nature, passion for color, design, art & photography have only grown while living in this beautiful and special place. Feeding off the richness of the Hawaiian Culture and colorful surroundings, she acquired an inmense knowledge and connection with this culture. Since then, she has exhibited and created many pieces of art at many locations in Mexico: The Riviera Maya & Los Cabos. Through the years, she has sold her art to many foreign and local customers. She has also become a renownedArchitecture & Portrait photographer in Los Cabos; photographing homes in the most high-end communities like Puerto Los Cabos, Palmilla, Querencia, Cabo Del Sol and Pedregal, among others. |
Life has taken her to many different places where she's been able to collect experience, great clients and expand her carrier.
She's now focusing also on illustration creating merchandise , apparel and selling her greeting cards locally at many popular locations in Todos Santos, Pueblo Mágico, and the Art Walk and Plaza Pescador in San José del Cabo.
